Comrade  and Brother Walter McElheny died Monday, December 15, 2008 at his home.  He was 75.

Born February 17, 1933, Walt was a son of Leland and Shirley (Merrill) McElheny.  He married the former Betty M. Heineman on April 25, 1959 in Sardinia.  She died September 13, 2004.

Walt served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a printer by trade, and worked at Ken-Dor Music in Delevan.

Walt was also an avid bowler, and enjoyed woodworking and horseshoes.  A member of the Round Robin Horseshoe Club and the Machias American Legion, he was an ardent Bills, Sabres and Yankees fan.
